Throughout my career I have been producing a wide range of professional proposals and technical reports, training presentations, legislative testimony covering market strategy, business plans, the economic impacts of weather on utilities, business strategy, water and energy conservation, climate change and launching new business initiatives. Much of my career has been serving as a business executive, account manager for major business accounts and performing the role of a “seller-doer” advisor.
Recently, I have branched out into publishing a variety of short-form and long-form content, often doing the ideation, outlining, design, content writing, editing, packaging and marketing. Most of the new content forms spring from my own personal experiences throughout my life and the observations I have made.
Key observations and life experiences that have influenced what I have written about include:
How do travelers get the most out of global and domestic travel and how to avoid the increasing number of travel delays and other mishaps? What causes airport stress and how can it be mitigated to protect personal travel plans? How to develop a routine travel lifestyle that is disciplined and helps avoid travel inconvenience. What tools, methods, apps and systems are available to improve the art of travel and avoid travel risks.
How do American place names get their name? These factors spring from a fusion of prevailing influence of culture, econimic, religious, physical attribues and war heroes of the time. There is also an array highly suggestive names that really sprang from factors that have different meanings from today. What factors influence the sometimes fusion of explorer, religious, Native-Americans, the railroads, and U.S. Postal Service were all sources of contemporary names.
I have also developed an appreciation of the history and struggles of the 1960’s as America was still dealing with the aftermath of the Civil War, as I traveled between the uppoer Midwest and Texas as a child and youth.
I am also deeply interested on the interplay of natrual resources, weather and climate and the impacts of water and energy supply and demand. In many ways weather and nature are uncontrollable, but there are ways to influence it and to isolate their impacts on the human activity which over time can influence in the form of feedback the tendencies of nature.
My father spent his life in the Corps of Engineers working on civil engineering projects dealing with flood control, hurricane protection in Southeast Texas, and working on the dredging and reservoirs and levies to support commerce and economic development. I have authored a short paper on my life around rivers and the impacts of weather on communities. I have also lived through terrible hurricanes and major winter storms which help me gain an appreciation of what mother nature and do and how we need systems and protections against their impacts on our habitat. I have also been to many glaciers only to see where they were decades ago and where they are today which is a box score for the climate change we are facing.
Water and energy are inextricably related and need more care, attention and consideration in fostering economic development. In some places we are experiencing limits to growth and the risk of catastrophic outcomes as documented with earlier civilizations. There is a greater need to balance natural resource limitation on economic and population expansion, otherwise the outcome will be no different from other historical accounts of other civilizations.
I am also interested in the development of space, the increasing recognition of , unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), (formerly UFOs), how religions have evolved, the different forms of spirituality in the world. I am also an avid user of AI and closely follow the debate on the impact of data centers and how they are received in communities and treated in elections. I am also closely following the need for communities to better address the issues of managing data center growth and development and the issueness in various communities. For educational purposes I also have an interest in creating a variety of “smart”, educational calendars on timely issues including travel, airlines, space, UAP’s, climate change, and Texas Water.
As I am getting older I have increased interest in health, exercise, work-life balance and quality human interaction ,,, and yes, laughing. These are key time devotional factors in my life including my wife and her great karma for people and situations.
